My art teacher at high school suggested that I should never give up art and now  I'm wishing that I could show her my new life in art. New experiences, new people and new challenges, painting makes me feel so alive.

This is my re-birth into art: Born in Northern Ireland, I have always had a great interest in colour and texture and have spent many years working on tapestries and weavings. The ‘old’ country's love of the arts allowed me to feel free to express myself in fabric and it is a natural growth for me to grow into painting. Painting scenes of Northern Ireland just reminds me of my childhood and chilly days watching the loveliest coast in the world.

North York Visual Artists was the first art group that I joined. I became President this group and for four years worked with a wonderful group of people pursuing their love of art.

My primary focus is a landscape artist: many of my works include Irish coastal scenes, still life studies, scenes of Italy, and abstractions of forest and wind/movement. The masters I have studied are: Van Gogh, Emily Carr, JMW Turner,

Tools of the trade – Oils, Watercolours leading into mixed media and more recently pastel.
